Terms of Service

Last updated 23 October 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Cylindricle when you use cylindricle.com and the text-to-speech service. Please read them. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them.

1. Who we are

The service is run by Cylindricle ("Cylindricle", "we", "us"). You can reach us at support@cylindricle.com.

2. Who can use Cylindricle

  • You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract. If you use Cylindricle for an organisation, you confirm you can accept these terms for it.
  • You must give a real email address and keep your account secure. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
  • The free allowance is for one person. Creating several accounts to collect more free characters is not allowed, and we may combine or close such accounts.

3. The service

Cylindricle converts text you provide into synthetic speech audio, with optional subtitles. All voices are artificial. Audio is produced by machine-learning software, so occasional mispronunciations or odd emphasis can happen. Check important audio before you publish it. We may improve, change or retire features and voices, and we will try to give notice of changes that matter.

4. Plans, characters and payment

  • Free plan: a one-time allowance of 25,000 characters per person, plus a small number of short test clips, for personal non-commercial use.
  • Paid plans (Pro, Studio, Scale): pay once for one calendar month of access with a monthly allowance of characters and audios. Plans do not renew automatically. We never charge you again unless you choose to pay again.
  • Top-ups: extra characters that stay valid for 12 months. You can buy one while you have an active paid plan. If your plan ends, any unused top-up characters stay on your account until they expire and are usable again once you buy a plan.
  • How characters are counted: by the text we speak, with a minimum of 5,000 characters for each audio. Pause tags are free. If an audio fails because of our fault, the characters are returned to you automatically.
  • Limits: each plan has limits for characters, text per paste, audios per month, audios running at once, test clips and file retention. These are shown on the pricing page and in your account, and we may apply fair-use rate limits to protect the service.
  • Prices and tax: prices are in Indian rupees. We may change prices for future purchases; a price change never affects a plan you have already paid for.
  • Payments are handled by our payment partner Razorpay. We do not see or store your card or bank details.
  • Unused characters in a monthly plan do not carry over when the plan period ends. Refunds are covered in the refund policy.

5. Your content

  • You keep all rights in the text you submit. You give us permission to process it only to make your audio and run the service.
  • You promise that you have the right to use the text, and that it does not break the law or anyone's rights, and that it follows our acceptable use policy and AI voice policy.
  • We do not listen to your audio or read your text, and we do not use either to train models. The only exception is a specific file we must open to investigate a report of abuse, respond to a legal request or fix a security problem. See the privacy policy.
  • Your audio files are kept for the period shown for your plan and are then deleted. Download what you need before then.

6. Your licence to the audio

What you may do with the audio depends on your plan. The full terms are in the commercial-use licence. In short: free-plan audio is for personal non-commercial use; audio made during a paid plan period may be used commercially, including after the plan ends.

7. Rules you must follow

You agree to follow the acceptable use policy and the AI voice policy. In particular, do not use Cylindricle to deceive people, impersonate anyone, create harmful or illegal content, or harm the service. We can remove content, limit features, or suspend or close an account that breaks these rules. Where it is reasonable we will tell you why. For serious or repeated breaches, we may act without notice and without refund.

8. Our intellectual property

The website, software, design and brand belong to us or our licensors. Open-source components remain under their own licences (see open-source notices). These terms give you no right to copy the service, to resell access to the voices, to build a competing text-to-speech service or voice dataset from our output, or to use audio to train machine-learning models.

9. Availability and changes

We work to keep the service running, but we do not promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. Audio is produced on cloud servers and may be delayed during busy periods or maintenance. We may update these terms. When we make a material change, we will tell you by email or in the product before it takes effect. If you keep using the service after that date, you accept the new terms.

10. Warranty and liability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we do not give warranties of fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or non-infringement beyond those that cannot be excluded. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or lost data, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the event that led to the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud.

11. Ending your account

You can stop using Cylindricle at any time and can delete your account yourself from the Account page. Payment records are kept as the law requires, and a deleted account does not receive the free allowance again. We may suspend or end access if you break these terms, if the law requires it, or if we stop offering the service (in which case we will refund any unused paid period on a pro-rata basis).

12. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Please write to us first so we can try to resolve the matter informally; see contact and grievances. Courts in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute we cannot resolve that way, subject to any mandatory consumer rights you have under applicable law.

13. General

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force. Our failure to enforce a right is not a waiver. You may not transfer your account or rights under these terms without our consent. These terms, together with the policies they link to, are the whole agreement between you and us about the service.
